Sandy Beach Walk to Remember

Join us at the Sandy Beach picnic area for the second annual Dubbo Walk to Remember with the wonderful local Rochelle Olsen, founder of The Baby Loss Mentor.

This will be a beautiful opportunity to love and connect, to honour and remember the babies and children who are no longer with us. We'll meet from 9 am for a 9:30am ceremony.

The Walk to Remember is a long-running annual event in the Sands, and now Red Nose, community. The formal remembrance service includes readings and reflections from local bereaved families, an opportunity for guests to publicly share the name of the little one/s they are remembering , a shared time of reflection and remembrance in our Pinwheel Ceremony and of course the symbolic Walk to Remember itself - taking the footsteps our babies could not.

The Dubbo Walk to Remember is held to coincide with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month each October. We invite all bereaved Red Nose families to come along and remember their little ones, recognising that we have all experienced loss and that all our babies and children have missed out on very important steps with their families. The walk will be a family friendly event that will include an Acknowledgement of Country, remembrance service and symbolic 30 minute slow return walk. Afterwards, we invite you to have a chat with other bereaved families and BYO a picnic to enjoy in the shady BBQ area.

As part of the registration all participants will receive a pinwheel to raise in the air during the walk. These are environmentally friendly and only provided to attendees ages 3+
