The Baby Loss Mentor

The Next Step Program

A one-to-one mentoring mentoring program to discover who you are post-loss and begin to equip yourself with the right tools to manage grief and overwhelm.

Are you feeling lost and disconnected from your pre-loss self after experiencing pregnancy or infant loss?

I've been there and I understand. My name is Rochelle Olsen, aka The Baby Loss Mentor, and I'm here to help. Unlike the one size fits all grief management approach, my journey begins with me finding out exactly where you’re at. It's called THE NEXT STEP PROGRAM - starting with a 60 minute session which is our first touch point. Delivered as a Zoom call or a face-to-face meet up, it is a chance to find out exactly where you’re at in your journey.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward…

The Next Step starts as a Zoom call or a face-to-face meetup. This session helps me support you, lets us get to know each other, and builds the framework for your support moving forward, or allows you the space and support to grieve. The Next Step includes a workbook and a follow-up phone call. You will leave the session equipped with an individualised plan with resources available to you — direction, guidance, and the support you need to start moving forward.

The Next Step Session is like purchasing your own grief toolbox; now you’ll be ready to fill the toolbox with tools that work for you. After the 60 minute one-on-one session, you’ll have the direction to know which tools belong in your tool kit to manage your grief and overwhelm.

you just need to take the next step...

when i needed support in a rural area…

  • There was no guidance to support and services that suited my circumstance.

  • I felt the full brunt of the isolation that comes with baby loss, compounded by the isolation of rural living.

  • I needed pregnancy and infant loss specific advice, to know I was not alone and that what I was experiencing was understood..

  • I had to find people myself who were part of this shitty mothers club, I just wanted a community of other baby loss mums who really seen and heard my struggles.

Why Choose to take The Next Step?

  • The Next Step is designed for pregnancy and infant loss mums who are ready to connect and start moving forward in their grief.

  • The Next Step is exactly that; a forward step in your journey of understanding and coming to terms with life after loss.

  • The Next Step is an initial touch point; here you will be seen, heard and understood.

  • As a lamplighter and carer by nature, I am here to gently hold space while we navigate where you are at on your journey.

  • Grief is not linear and no two grieving mother’s are the same.

  • For this reason, The Next Step is an exploration of where you and where you’d like to be.

  • Sit with me a while and let’s start thinking about a life after loss.

Let’s end this struggle

You do not need to have it all figured out. You just need to take the next step.

What happens when you take The Next Step?

The Next Step is designed to transition you from your current state of grief to a place of support. This program is a safe place to explore where you are currently at in your grief journey.

The first session will comfort, support and expand your thinking to identify what life after loss can look like for you. You will then be supported with me in your back pocket via the Voxer App for the next MONTH after your 1:1 session.

  • Rochelle is the sounding board every woman needs. She supported me to understand where I was and where I needed to work on. Rochelle helped me to work through questions I had not ever been able to ask myself or anyone else. A saving grace and highly recommend.

  • Rochelle's sessions have a practical outcome, you go away with tools and strategies to implement changes to daily routines and clarity around your goals. Highly recommend if you are Mum dealing with the overwhelm and need some decluttering.

    – Pip Stalley

  • I engaged Rochelle to undertake wellness consultations and well-being plans with my team. We are really happy with the result. As a CEO trying to juggle projects, I can't do it all - and often - I am not the best person for certain jobs! I know how important it is to have smart professionals at the table to support the team, and who have knowledge in specific areas about health and wellness. It's been great to work with Rochelle, I hope more businesses invest in their teams well-being too.

    – Jill Kilby

  • Such a caring, knowledgeable and empathetic business. I love the wholehearted approach to wellbeing. Rochelle puts so much time and effort into making sure she offers the best practical services and products. Simply amazing!!!

    – Bronwyn

  • From December last year our world turned upside down with a traumatic Molar Pregnancy and a loss at 18 weeks. Rochelle was my absolute god send and spoke to me in depth many many times and was always on the other end of the phone if I needed her. Her compassion empathy and support was absolutely outstanding. She gave me so much strength and guidance and got me through the toughest time in my life to date. She made all of my worries and head talk so at ease by shedding a different light and view on it. Her advice was worth a million dollars to me. I am eternally grateful to Rochelle and highly recommend that you reach out to her for her divine guidance.

read my story

Have we met yet? I’m Rochelle

On the 17th of July 2016, my husband Robert and I lost our first-born son Edward. At just 7 hours old, Edward gained his wings and my life to this day has never been the same.

The passing of Edward split my life in two. I commonly refer to my life in two parts Before Edward (BE) and After Edward (AE). At this difficult time, I could not comprehend nor navigate an existence without my son. I lost everything; my will to survive, my identity, myself.

Along with losing our Edward, I have suffered two first-trimester miscarriages. I know firsthand the devastation encompassed in loss and the fact that life, as we knew it, would never be the same.

AE, I was, a rightful mess. I started from ground zero and with a lot of persistence, I started to gain momentum and move forward.

Since the loss of Edward, my heart and soul has been forged into helping other baby loss mums. My work is in honour of Edward and as I nurture others and offer support, I am honouring my son.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The support you will receive when you engage The Baby Loss Mentor is unique to you. I take you exactly as you are – wherever you are on your grief journey. Remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.

The Next Step is where you will embark on your journey of self-discovery; finding out exactly who you are post-loss. In this session, we will identify where you are and where you’d like to be.

From The Next Step, you will have the choice to embark on the Bush Blossums Mentoring Program. Here, I aim to educate, support, guide and gently hold space – I am a lamplighter and mentor beside you on your journey. Referrals are most welcome; I can consult with you or your loved one directly to gently guide and hold space. I offer The Next Step to grieving mums with no lock in contract or obligation to then engage in the Blossom Mentoring Program. Sometimes The Next Step is enough to know that there is help available and to open grieving mums up to the notion of life after loss.

  • If you or a loved one is ready to take The Next Step, you can book a call directly through my website.

If you’d like more information or to enquire on behalf of someone, you can contact me via the contact page or rochelle@thebabylossmentor.com.au
